S P Sarees

We’ve been here at the S. P. Complex for a good while now. Being right besides the Union Bank of India on May Fair Road makes it easy for people to find us, which is lucky because Anand can get pretty busy during the day. Most mornings start with dusting off the shelves and making sure the sarees are folded just right. It’s a lot of work, keeping everything tidy when there are so many different patterns and fabrics to manage. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the ground floor just right and you can really see the colors. We aren't doing anything fancy here. Just selling sarees to the people who walk in. The traffic on May Fair Road is almost always noisy, but you get used to it after a few years. It’s just how it is. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for something specific, and other times they just want to look around for an hour. We let them be. There’s no rush in this shop. It’s just me and a couple of others most days. We keep the doors open and wait to see who stops by. It’s a simple way to spend the day. Usually, we're thinking about what to have for lunch or if the rain will hold off. It's not a big corporate office or anything, just a regular shop floor where we keep our stock and talk to the locals.
