Garden Restaurant & Dhaba

Our place is right there in the Cantonment area of Varanasi, just opposite where the Indian Airlines office is. You can’t miss it if you’re walking down that main stretch. We’ve been here for a while now, just doing what we do every day. The morning starts with a lot of cleaning because the dust from the road gets everywhere. It’s a busy spot. People come in mostly when they are tired from traveling or just need a quick break from the heat outside. We have some fans going all day but sometimes it still feels a bit warm when it’s crowded. The tables are basic and we don't bother with fancy stuff. You see all sorts of people sitting here, some talking loudly about their flights and others just looking at their phones. The kitchen gets really hot around noon when everything is cooking at once. Sometimes the staff is a bit slow if too many people arrive together, but we try to get the plates out as they are ready. It’s not a quiet place, you can always hear the horns from the street and the chatter of people waiting for their buses. We just keep the water jars filled and make sure the floor stays mostly clean. It’s just a regular spot for a meal, nothing more than that. We open early and stay until the lights on the street go dim. It is what it is, a simple dhaba for people passing through.
