Cozy Corner Restaurant

You can find us at Plot No-6, B-1, in the Assi area of Varanasi. We are tucked into Dumrao Bagh, right near Assi Ghat. If you’ve spent any time at the ghats, you know it’s a special part of the city. Our restaurant is just a short walk from the water. It’s a small place, which is why we have the name we do. It’s not about being fancy, just about having a little corner where you can sit down. The building is older, like most things around here, so it has some character. We have a few tables and the kitchen is right there where you can hear things sizzling. The air gets thick with smells of cooking and incense from the street. We get a lot of travelers who are visiting the ghats, and also some of the local students from the university. It’s a mix of everyone, really. Sometimes we run out of certain things on the menu if the market was slow that morning. We just tell people and they usually don’t mind. The chairs aren't the most comfortable in the world, but they work for a meal. We don't have a big staff, so things might take a minute when we're full. That’s just the pace of life in Varanasi. We’re just here on our little plot in Assi, keeping the stove going for whoever stops by after seeing the river.
