Navarangs Veg Restaurant

Our restaurant is in the Meera Complex on NH-17 in Padubidri. We’re right near the bus stand, so we see a lot of people coming and going all day. Being on the highway means things are always moving. We decided to do a vegetarian place because that’s what a lot of people around here look for. The kitchen gets started very early, often before the sun is up, because the first buses start arriving early. We don’t have a very big menu. We just keep a few items that we can make quickly and correctly. It’s a simple setup with basic furniture. We don’t have a big corporate structure or fancy uniforms. We’re just local people from the Udupi area working a regular job. The highway brings in a lot of dust and noise, and we spend a good chunk of our day just keeping the place clean. Sometimes when the monsoon is heavy, it gets a bit difficult with the road, but we stay open. We’ve known the regular commuters for years. We don't have any big plans for expansion or anything like that. We just want to keep this place running the way it has been. If you’re traveling on the NH-17 and need a quick stop to eat, you’ll see our sign at the Meera Complex. We’re just a plain, honest spot for anyone passing through Padubidri.
