Basil Cafe

Basil Cafe is tucked away in the Princess Kirthi Building in Manipal. If you know where the Manipal Education Building is, we are right behind it. Being in a university town like Manipal means we get a lot of students and people working at the colleges. It’s a small cafe, not a big fancy restaurant. We have some tables and chairs where people can sit and do their work or just talk. The vibe is pretty relaxed because that’s what people around here seem to like. We make coffee and some light food throughout the day. The kitchen is small, so we don't do anything too complicated. It’s mostly just us trying to keep up with the orders when classes let out and everyone comes in at once. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, or the wifi is acting up, but we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a fun place to be because of all the young people around. We’ve been in this building for a bit now and have gotten to know the regulars. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything. It’s just this one cafe. We like being part of the Manipal scene and just providing a spot for people to hang out and have a bite. It’s a busy life, but it works for us. We just focus on making the coffee right and keeping the place decent for everyone.
