Hotel Mayura Family Restaurant

Our place is right on NH 66 in Kaup, not far from the Marigudi Temple. Since we are on the highway, we get a lot of people stopping in while they are traveling between Udupi and Mangalore. It’s a family restaurant first, but we have some space for people to stay too. Hotel Mayura has been a landmark for folks in 574106 for a while. It’s usually loud with the sound of trucks passing by, but that’s the highway for you. We serve a lot of local food, and the kitchen is always busy from morning until late at night. The staff is mostly family members or people from the village nearby. We don’t have a lot of fancy rules here. We just want people to have a good meal and a rest. The temple brings in a lot of visitors on certain days, and then the place gets really packed. We try to keep up with the rush, but sometimes it takes a bit longer to get the food out. We don’t mind. It’s a lively spot and there’s always something happening. We spend a lot of time cleaning tables and making sure there’s enough rice and curry for everyone. It’s hard work, but we’ve been doing it a long time. People seem to appreciate the simplicity of it all when they stop by for a break.
