Naivedya Pure Veg Restaurant

Right across from the Udupi Court, you’ll find us in the Udupi Courts building. It’s a very specific kind of area because we get a lot of lawyers and people who have business at the court. It gets quite loud in the mornings when everyone is rushing to get their work started. We’ve been running this pure veg place for a while now. The routine is the same every day—grinding the batter, getting the coffee ready, and making sure there’s enough water for the tables. It’s a practical sort of place. We don't have fancy tablecloths or anything like that. The floors are tile because they're easier to wash at the end of the night. Udupi is famous for its food, and we just try to do justice to the local style without adding anything unnecessary. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the front windows and makes it really bright, so we have to adjust the curtains. It’s these small things that take up our time. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy website. It’s just us and the customers who walk in. Most of them are regulars who work nearby. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming here as adults. It’s a steady kind of life. We don't try to overcomplicate things or pretend to be more than a simple restaurant. We just provide a seat and a meal to whoever comes in through the door.
