Yash Handicraft

We are located at 171 Jagdish Chowk, which is right in the heart of the old city area. Yash Handicraft has been here for a while, and the address is easy enough to find if you’re near the temple. The shop itself is quite old, with thick walls that stay cool even when the Rajasthani sun is beating down outside. We don’t have a lot of space, so everything is tucked into corners or hung from the ceiling. It’s a bit crowded, but it feels cozy to us. Every morning, we start by cleaning the dust off the items and setting a few things out on the street. The chowk is always noisy with tourists and locals, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of it. We spend our time working on the handicrafts, often sitting near the back where it’s a bit quieter. We don’t have any polished speeches for customers. Most people just come in and browse while we continue with whatever we’re doing. Sometimes the work is slow and takes a lot of patience, but we don’t mind. We use simple tools and traditional ways of making things, because that’s what we were taught. It’s a humble place, and we don’t try to make it seem like anything more than what it is.
