You can find us on Bhuwana Main Road, right along NH-8. We are across from the old Chunginaka, not far from the temple there. Being on the highway means there is always a layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we clean. We deal in arts and crafts, so the shop is usually full of boxes and half-finished items. It smells like wood and glue most days. People driving through often pull over when they see the crafts sitting out. We don’t have a big sales pitch. We just show them what we have on the shelves. Sometimes we are busy packing things for transport, and other times it’s just quiet. The temple nearby brings some foot traffic on certain days of the week. We have been in this spot for years. The building is older, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We have a small back room where we keep the tools and extra materials. Most of our day is spent either talking to local makers or organizing the displays. It’s a bit messy, but that’s the nature of working with handmade things. The highway is loud, but you get used to the sound of the trucks. We just open the doors every morning and see who comes in. It’s a simple life running a craft shop on the edge of town.
