Shree Art Workshop

You can find Shree Art Workshop in the middle of Choapti Market. We are located right near the Tulsi Hotel, which is a good landmark because the market itself can be a bit of a maze. Our shop is where we do all our creative work, but it’s definitely more of a workshop than a gallery. There are piles of wood, cans of half-used paint, and sketches pinned to every available inch of the walls. It’s a small space, so things tend to get a bit crowded when more than two people are working. We don't have a sales team or a fancy display window. Most of our work comes from people who are staying at the hotel or locals who know we’ve been here for years. We do a lot of hand-painted signs and custom frames. It’s the kind of work that takes time and leaves your hands stained with ink. The noise from the market is constant, with vendors shouting and bikes zooming past. We just turn on a small radio and get to work on whatever project is on the table. Sometimes we stay late when a piece needs to dry before morning. We don’t have a big philosophy about art. We just like making things that look good and help out the other shop owners in the market.
