Konika Hastkala Kendra

We are over at 20 Hamir Bhawan on Bedla Road in Fatehpura, right near the Kunwar Kalewa Hotel. Konika Hastkala Kendra is where we keep all the handmade items we have. The shop has a specific smell to it, mostly from the fabrics and materials used in the crafts. It isn't a huge place but we have crammed a lot into the shelves and cabinets. Some things are tucked away in drawers and you have to know where to look. We spend time making sure things are folded correctly or placed where they won't get damaged. Being near the hotel means we see a few different faces now and then, but mostly it is locals who know we are here. The road outside can get a bit busy during school hours, but otherwise, it is a decent spot. We don't use any big computers or fancy systems, just a notebook to keep track of what goes out. It is a very hands-on kind of place. We might be sitting on the floor sorting through new stock or hanging things on the walls to make more room. It is just a small business run by people who appreciate the work that goes into making these items. We don't have a big marketing plan, we just open the door and wait for people to come in. It’s a quiet life but it keeps us busy enough.
