Vadala Restaurant

Our restaurant is located in the Udaipur Ho area, specifically at Jada Ganesh Ji Chowk. It’s just outside Chandpole, which is a part of the city that is always full of people and activity. Vadala Restaurant isn't a huge place, but we have a good view of the street life from our doorway. Udaipur is a beautiful city, but this part of it is more about the locals going about their business. We get a mix of people coming in—some tourists who wandered off the main path and plenty of folks who live nearby. The building is old, like most things in this part of town, so the rooms are a bit small and the floors are uneven. We don't have air conditioning, just some fans that hum all day to keep the air moving. The kitchen is tucked away in the back and it’s where most of the work happens. We keep the menu simple because that’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, but we just light some candles and keep going. It’s a very local experience, not like the fancy hotels you see by the lake. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and we’ve seen the streets outside change a lot. But we just keep serving food and talking to whoever comes in to sit down for a meal.
