Udaipura Pavillion Restaurant

You can find us at number 8 in Sahi Walon Ki Haweli, right in the heart of Udaipur. We are very close to the City Palace, so there are always people walking by. The building is an old haweli, which means the walls are thick and it stays a bit cooler inside during the hot Rajasthan summers. We call it a pavilion because it is an open kind of space where people can sit and eat. We serve the regular kind of food that you would find in a local home. It is not a place for fine dining or anything like that. We have some tables set up and we just try to keep the place tidy. The kitchen is small but we stay busy throughout the day. Sometimes the narrow streets outside get very crowded with tourists and cows, which can make things a bit chaotic. We have had to do some repairs on the old structure recently, but that is expected when you are in a historic part of town. Most of our help comes from people who live nearby. We do not have a fancy website or big signs, just a simple entrance that lets you in. It is a lot of work to keep things running, but we like being so close to the palace and seeing all the different people who visit Udaipur every day.
