Tryst

Udaipur is always full of people, but up here on Bhram Pole Road, it feels a bit different. Tryst is situated just above Sargam Sadan, so you have to head up to find us. We’re really close to the Bhram Pole Mosque, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find the way. It’s a bit of a climb, but once you’re here, it’s nice to be away from the immediate bustle of the street. The building is old, like most things in this part of town, so it has its quirks. The windows sometimes rattle when the wind picks up, and the stairs are a bit narrow. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure everything is ready for whoever walks in. We get a lot of travelers, but local folks come by too. It’s a small operation, really. I usually handle most things myself, or with one other person. We don’t have fancy uniforms or big corporate rules. It’s more about the atmosphere of the old city and just being a part of it. Some days are slow, and I just sit and watch the activity down on the road near the mosque. Other days, it’s a bit of a rush. But that’s just how it is in Udaipur Ho. We’re just here, doing our thing day after day. It gets a bit dusty being near the road, but we manage.
