Shanti Bhojnalaya

Our place is right on City Station Road in Udaipur. It’s actually located below Hotel Yatri, near the Undiya Pool. Being so close to the station means we get a lot of travelers who just stepped off a train and are looking for a simple meal. Udaipur is a beautiful city, but this part near the station is always hectic. We have people with big bags coming in and out all day. The Bhojnalaya is a small setup. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. It's just a basement level spot where you can get a regular thali or some basic dishes. We do a lot of cleaning because the dust from the station road never stops. The heat in Rajasthan can be a bit much, especially in the kitchen area. We just keep the fans going and the water cold. It’s a family-run kind of thing, no corporate bosses or big rules. We just know what needs to be done. Sometimes the train is late and we get a sudden rush of people at odd hours. We just handle it as it comes. It’s not a fancy dining experience, just honest food for people who are on the move. We’ve seen many travelers come and go over the years, and we just stay here near the pool, doing our daily work. It is what it is.
