If you walk into the Chandpole area of Udaipur, you will find us near the Jagannath Mandir. This part of the city is very old and the lanes are narrow, so it has a specific kind of feel to it. We have been operating inside Chandpole for quite some time now. Most people find us while they are walking around the temple or exploring the old streets. The building itself has that classic Udaipur character. It is not a corporate setup at all. We are just a local team running a restaurant in a place we know well. Every morning we open up and start the prep work. The kitchen is always busy with the smell of spices. We get a lot of travelers who are looking for something a bit different from the usual tourist spots. It can get a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is out for a walk, but we like the energy. We don't have a massive team, so everyone does a bit of everything, from taking orders to cleaning tables. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. Living and working in the old city means we are part of the neighborhood. We know the shopkeepers nearby and the people who live upstairs. It is a practical business. We just want to serve food that people enjoy while they take a break from the heat and the noise of the streets outside.
