Sangeeta Arts & Crafts

If you walk down the lane at 18 Naiyon Ki Talai you’ll find Sangeeta Arts & Crafts inside the old Badi Sadri House. It’s part of the Kalaji Goraji area and the building itself has a lot of character with its thick walls and small windows. We’ve been operating out of this house for a long time and it feels more like a home than a shop most days. There are several rooms filled with different crafts and sometimes it’s hard to remember where we tucked away a specific piece. The lighting isn’t the best in the back rooms so we often have to bring things out to the courtyard to show people the colors properly. We spend a lot of our time just chatting with the neighbors or the people who wander in while exploring the old city. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you don’t know the turns. We don't really have a big sign out front, just the name near the door. The floor is old stone and it stays cool even when the sun is beating down on the street outside. Sometimes we just sit on the cushions and work on some small repairs or organize the new stock that came in. It’s a slow pace of life here compared to the main roads and we like it that way.
