About Rajasthan Handicarft & Textile Factory – Art & Craft in Udaipur
We are tucked away at 91 Bhatiyani Chohata, right near Mamaji Ki Haveli. It’s one of those old parts of town where the streets are narrow and you have to be careful walking. The factory is mostly one large room filled with textiles and the sound of machines or people working. We have stacks of fabric everywhere, mostly in bright colors that Rajasthan is known for. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and the old ceiling fans hum all day long. It’s a very busy place, especially when we have a big order to finish. We don't have a showroom with glass cases. Everything is out on tables or in piles. You can hear the neighborhood noise through the windows—people talking, bells from the temple, and the occasional motorbike. We spend our days measuring cloth and checking for any loose threads. It’s a lot of standing and bending over the worktables. We usually eat our lunch together in the small back area. It’s not a corporate office at all. It’s a place where hands get dirty and people work hard. We’ve been here so long that we know every crack in the floor. Sometimes visitors get lost finding us because the lanes are so winding, but once they see the sign near the haveli, they find the way. It is a bit loud and messy, but it’s our workplace and we are used to the rhythm.
