Om Arts & Crafts

You can find us at 45- New Fatehpura, right near Sukhadia Circle. It is a good spot because everyone knows where the circle is, though the traffic can get a bit much on the weekends. Our shop, Om Arts & Crafts, is usually filled with the smell of sawdust and glue. There are pieces of wood and half-finished projects tucked into every corner. We spend a lot of our time just sitting on small stools working on things by hand. Sometimes the floor gets so covered in shavings that you can't even see the tiles. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. The light coming through the front window is usually pretty good for seeing the small details of our work. We get a lot of people wandering in just to look around, and we don't mind that at all. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back room for when we take a break. It gets a bit dusty inside, no matter how much we clean, but that is just part of working with your hands. We don't use any fancy computers for our designs, we mostly just draw them out on scraps of paper first. It is a slow way of doing things but it works for us. We just keep at it day after day.
