Naju Shree Vatika

Our place is over in Saheli Nagar, and honestly, it is mostly about the space we have here. Being in Udaipur, the weather dictates a lot of what we do every day. When the sun is out, we are usually busy making sure the plants are getting enough water and that the ground is cleared of any debris. It is a vatika, so it is meant to be an open area, which means there is a lot of outdoor maintenance. We don't have a big fancy office; it is more about the gates and the walls and the trees. Some days it is quiet and you can just hear the birds, but other days we are moving things around and getting ready for people to use the space. It’s a lot of physical work, like dragging benches or checking the lights. Saheli Nagar is a decent area to be in, and we have been here long enough that we don't really think about it much anymore. We just show up, open the gates, and start the chores. There is always a fence that needs a bit of paint or a patch of grass that isn't growing right. We don't try to make it sound like something it isn't. It is just a patch of land we look after so it stays ready for whatever happens next. If it rains, we have to scurry around and cover things up, but that is just part of the job.
