Mayank Handicrafts is located in Bhatiyani Chohata, right near the Mahalaxmi Temple. You can usually hear the temple bells from our workshop. It is a small space, and we have lived and worked in this area for a long time. The shop is often cluttered with tools, pieces of wood, and half-finished projects. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of us doing the work. Most of our days are spent carving or painting, depending on what needs to be done. The street outside is narrow and can get very crowded with tourists and locals. We often leave the door open to get some air, even though it brings in the noise. It is a very old part of the city, and our building shows its age. We do not bother with fancy displays or lighting. If someone wants to see what we have, they just come in and look around. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down. There is not any big story behind the business. We just needed a way to make a living and this is what we knew how to do. The Mahalaxmi Temple is a good place for people to park their bikes before they walk over to see us. It is a plain and simple workshop for handmade items.
