Mani Balaji Art & Crafts

Mani Balaji Art & Crafts is located at number 6, right by Jagdish Chowk on Palace Road. It’s a busy corner of the city with lots of people walking by to see the sights. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things we’ve collected and made. It smells like wood and old paper inside. We don't have everything perfectly labeled, so you usually have to browse a bit to see it all. The shelves are packed and sometimes things get a bit dusty if they haven't been moved in a week. We spend our time fixing things up or talking to visitors about how things are made. It isn't a high-end gallery with white walls. It’s a working shop where we might be mid-project when you walk in. There are scraps of material on the worktable and tools lying around. We like the mess because it shows we are actually doing something. The building is older and has its own character, which fits what we sell. We aren't into big marketing or flashy displays. We just put our items out and hope people find something they like. Being near the palace means we see a lot of different faces every day. It’s a simple life at Mani Balaji Art & Crafts, just making things and keeping the shop open for whoever stops by to look at the work we do.
