Maheshwari Handicrafts is right there at 2 City Palace Road, very close to Jagdish Mandir. It’s a very famous part of the city, so we see a lot of people passing through every single day. The bells from the temple are something we hear all the time from morning to night. Our shop is right in the thick of things. We’ve been here for years, and the location is what we like most about our setup. We don’t have much room to spare, so every corner is filled with various handicrafts. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when it gets busy in the afternoons. We don't spend money on ads or big signs to get attention. People find us because they’re visiting the temple or walking to the palace nearby. We keep the business very simple. It’s mostly just family or long-time staff working here. We know where every single piece is kept, even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. Maheshwari Handicrafts is just a local spot. We don't have any grand plans to expand or become a big chain with multiple stores. We like being near Jagdish Mandir and being part of the daily life of this neighborhood. We open early when the temple starts getting busy and we close when the crowds thin out. It’s a practical way to live and work in this busy part of Udaipur and we are happy here.
