Madri Haveli Restaurant

We've been here at Madri Haveli for a while now. The restaurant is part of the hotel on Ganesh Street. It's an old building, which gives it a certain character that's hard to find in newer places. People usually find us when they are walking through the Chandpole area. It's not a fancy spot, just a place to sit down and eat. We spend most of our mornings getting the kitchen ready for the lunch rush. It gets pretty busy around here since we are right in the heart of Udaipur. The street outside is usually full of life. We try to keep things simple. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit hectic when a big group shows up without calling, but we manage. Most of the staff has been working here together for years, so we know how each other works. It’s a lot of work running a place like this in an old haveli. There are always little things to fix or paint. We don’t have any big corporate plans. We just want to make sure the food is ready when people are hungry. It’s a family-run kind of vibe. You can see the old walls and the way the building was made a long time ago. It’s just us doing what we do every day. Nothing more to it really. We're glad to be a part of this neighborhood. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of the construction nearby, but we keep on going. We just do our best with what we have.
