Maa Arya Shakti Bhojnalay & Restaurant sits right at Sati Chouraha in Udaipur. This part of Rajasthan has its own rhythm, and being in Jadol means we are a bit away from the main tourist lakes, which suits us just fine. Our place is a basic bhojnalay, the kind where you come in, eat your fill, and go about your day. The chouraha is always buzzing with motorcycles and people walking to the local markets. We spend most of our mornings getting the dal and vegetables started so everything is fresh when the sun gets high. The building is old and has its quirks, like the floors that are a bit uneven, but it stays relatively cool inside. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just open the doors and wait for people to come in. Most of the people who eat here are locals or workers who need a heavy lunch to get through the afternoon. Udaipur is a beautiful city, but life at Sati Chouraha is more about the daily grind and hard work. We keep the tables clean and the water jars full. There is no loud music or bright lights here, just the sound of the kitchen and people talking about their day. It is a simple life running a restaurant in Jadol, and we take it one day at a time without much complaining.
