We set up KNG Dawat in the Khwaja Complex, right on the Lokkala Mandal Road. If you know where Mohta Park is in Udaipur, then we’re basically right across from it. It’s a nice part of town, and we’ve become a bit of a fixture for people living around here. Running a restaurant isn't always easy, especially when you want to keep the flavors consistent every single day. We spend a lot of time in the back, making sure the gravies are simmering properly and the bread is fresh. Our space is pretty straightforward. We didn't spend a fortune on interior designers or anything. We just wanted a place where a family could come and eat without feeling out of place. The menu has the usual stuff you’d expect from a place like ours. We listen to what the customers say, like if something is too spicy or if they want more of something else. Udaipur gets quite busy with tourists, but we mostly see the local crowd who live and work near the park. It’s a simple operation. We show up, we cook, and we clean up at the end of the night. It's hard work, but seeing someone finish their plate makes it feel like we're doing something right. Just stop by if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a quiet place to eat.
