Kajri Art Cottage

Our shop is located right on Gulab Baag Road. It’s a place that’s always full of people and noise, which we’ve grown to like over the years. We call it a cottage because that’s how it started out, and the name just stuck even as we grew a bit. Inside, you’ll find all sorts of art pieces tucked away in corners. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our time talking to people who walk in or working on the pieces ourselves. The dust from the road sometimes comes in through the door, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the shelves. We aren't a big chain store with bright lights and uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and do our work. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we’ve been here for a long time. Sometimes the tourists stop by, and other times it's just the locals who want something for their homes. We don’t have a big mission statement or any of that stuff. We just make things and hope people like them enough to take them home. It’s a simple way of living and working. The evening sun hits the front window just right, making it a nice place to finish up the day’s work.
