Jean Restaurant

Jean Restaurant sits up here in the Rajsamand district, specifically near the Club Mahindra Fort Kumbhalgarh. You can find us on Maharana Pratap Marg in Kelwara. It’s a bit of a climb to get up this way, but the air is different than in the city. Being located at the 313001 area means we see a lot of tourists coming to look at the fort. We are a local team running things here. It’s not like those big corporate dining rooms you see in the cities. We just have our kitchen and a place for people to sit down and rest their feet after walking the fort walls. The weather can be a bit unpredictable in the hills, so sometimes it’s quiet and other times we are completely full. We get our supplies from the local markets down the road. It takes some time to get everything delivered up here because of the winding roads and the distance from the main hubs. The staff lives nearby, so we all know each other well and it feels more like a house than a business. It’s a quiet life mostly. We don’t spend much time on decorations or anything like that. The focus is just on the cooking and making sure everyone gets their food. If you are visiting Kumbhalgarh, you’ll likely pass us on the main road. We keep the doors open and the stove going for whoever stops by. It’s a decent place to grab a bite while you're exploring the area. We are just happy to be here.
