Jaiwana Haveli Restaurant

We are located at 14 Lalghat, right behind the Jagdish Mandir in Udaipur. You have to walk through the old streets to get to us. We are part of the Jaiwana Haveli Hotel, so we are in an old building that has been around for a long time. Fatehpur area is always full of people and cows and bikes. It can be a bit of a squeeze getting through the lanes. From where we sit, we can hear the temple bells from Jagdish Mandir quite clearly. It is a nice sound to work to. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We are just the staff here at Jaiwana Haveli Restaurant. The walls are thick and the stairs are a bit steep. Most of us have been working here in Lalghat for years. We know the neighbors and the other shopkeepers around here. When the sun goes down, the whole area changes and gets a bit quieter, but not much. We just serve the food we know how to make. It is not about being the most famous place in Rajasthan. We just want to make sure the people who come in are fed and happy. Sometimes the roof gets hot in the summer, but that is Udaipur for you. We just keep the fans going and keep moving. It is a simple life in a very old part of town. We are just here every day and that is it.
