Handicrafts Emporium

Handicrafts Emporium sits at 73, Gangaur Ghat Road. It’s a busy spot because of the location near the water. We get a lot of people walking by, some just looking and some looking for something specific. The shop itself is packed with all sorts of things we’ve collected over time. It can get a bit dusty on the higher shelves because there’s just so much to keep track of. We don’t have a big staff, so it’s usually just one or two of us here minding the door and helping out. The road outside is always lively, and you can hear the sounds of the street all day long. We don’t use any high-tech systems for our inventory; mostly just notebooks and a good memory. The building is older and has that specific smell of old wood and handmade items. We keep the front door open to let in the breeze, though that brings in the street noise too. It’s a simple way to run a business. We aren't looking to become some massive chain. We just like being here on Gangaur Ghat Road and seeing the different people who wander in. Some days it’s quiet and we just sit and watch the traffic go by. Other days it’s a bit of a rush and we are busy from morning until we close up the shutters at night.
