Gulnaar Enterprises

You can find Gulnaar Enterprises at 23/161 on Lal Ghat Road, right near the Lake Ghat Hotel in Udaipur. It’s a very old part of town with narrow streets that are hard to drive through, so most people just walk. We are very close to the water, and you can smell the lake on days when the breeze is blowing the right way. Our shop and office are in a traditional building with thick walls that keep it relatively cool. We deal with various items, mostly things that tourists and exporters are looking for. The space is a bit cramped because we have so much stock piled up on the shelves and even on the floor in some corners. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and dusting off the displays before the sun gets too high. There’s always someone stopping by to chat or ask for directions, and we don't mind the interruptions much. It’s a slower pace of life here compared to the big cities. We do our own bookkeeping in a big ledger and spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers from other parts of Rajasthan. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when business is slow just to watch the people go by toward the ghats. It’s a nice spot to work, even if the building is a bit leaky when the monsoon rains finally come. We’ve been here for years.
