We work out of units 6, 7, and 8 in the Bhuwana Lakhawali Estate. It’s more of an industrial area, so it’s not really meant for window shopping. Our days are filled with the sound of chisels and the smell of cut stone. We make moorties and various handicrafts. It’s a dusty job. Everyone wears old clothes because everything gets covered in white powder within ten minutes. The estate can be a bit confusing to navigate if you haven’t been here before. We spend most of our time in the workshop area rather than sitting in the office. There are always pieces in different stages of being finished. Some are just rough blocks, others are almost done. We don't have a big marketing department. People usually hear about us through word of mouth or they see the trucks leaving the estate. We’ve been in this specific spot for quite a while now. The workers have their own rhythm, and we mostly just try to stay out of their way and handle the orders. Lunch is usually eaten together in the shade when it gets too hot. It’s honest work that leaves your hands tired at the end of the shift. We aren’t interested in being a big corporation. We just like making things and making sure they get to where they are supposed to go. It’s a busy, loud, and messy place to be.
