Out here in Tagore Nagar, at Hiran Magri Sector No. 4, you’ll find our workshop and office. We’re at number 27. Bhardwaj Moortie & Handicrafts Pvt. Ltd. is a place where there is always a bit of dust in the air. That’s because we work with stone and other materials for the handicrafts. It’s not a clean, polished office environment. There are tools lying around and half-finished pieces sitting on the floor. We’ve been in this part of Udaipur for quite some time now. The neighbors know us by the sound of the work happening throughout the day. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we make, you just come to the workshop and look around. The guys working here have been doing this for years, and they know their way around the materials better than anyone. It’s hard work and it can be physically tiring. We take breaks when it gets too hot and sit in the shade with some water. We don't talk much about "excellence" or anything like that. We just focus on finishing the piece we’re working on so it looks right. Dealing with logistics and shipping from Tagore Nagar can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we’ve figured out how to make it work over the years. It’s just a traditional business, run by real people who enjoy working with their hands.
