Barmer Arts & Crafts

You can find us on the first floor of building 176 in the Moti Magri Scheme. It is right near the U.I.T. Office on Fatehsagar Road. To get to Barmer Arts & Crafts, you have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit steep if you are carrying bags. The view of the road from up here is actually pretty good. We have a lot of different things packed into this space. There are textiles, some wood carvings, and a lot of small handmade items that people from the villages bring in. It smells a bit like old fabric and wood polish inside. We don't really have a big showroom feel. It is more like a warehouse where things are stacked up on tables and shelves. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific pattern someone is looking for. We spend our days unpacking new boxes or wrapping things up for people to take home. The sunlight comes in through the big windows in the afternoon and hits all the colors of the fabrics. It is a nice place to work, even if it gets a bit crowded when we have a lot of stock. Being near the lake road means there are always people walking by, though many don't realize we are up here on the first floor until they see the sign. We just keep ourselves busy with the crafts and the customers.
