You can find us at No:841-9, inside the Moosa Compound in Kamla Nagar, Thalaiyuthu. Afra Hollow Blocks And Bricks is a small place where we work hard every day. The compound is shared with a few other small businesses, so there is always something going on. We make both the hollow blocks and the solid ones. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting the molds and stacking the finished products. Our clothes are usually stained with cement and dirt. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the job well. The shed we use for an office is pretty cluttered with tools and old ledgers. We don't have a fancy way of doing things. We just listen to what the customer wants and we try to make it for them. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around, but that’s just life here in Thalaiyuthu. We don't have any shiny brochures or a sales team. If you want to see our bricks, you just have to come down to the Moosa Compound and see them for yourself. We take pride in the fact that our bricks are solid. It’s how we make our living and we’ve been doing it this way for quite a while now. We’re just regular people working a regular job. We open early and close when the sun goes down.
