Annai Hi Power Bricks

Over at 14/5 Palm Craft Building, you’ll find us working away. We are on Tiruchenndur Road in Palayamkottai, which is a busy stretch of road most of the time. Annai Hi Power Bricks has been operating out of this spot, and it gets pretty loud with all the buses and lorries passing by. The building itself is easy to spot if you’re looking for it. Inside the yard, things are usually a bit chaotic with piles of bricks everywhere. We don’t really have a reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and find someone. Most of the guys have been working here for years, so we all know the routine. The sun hits the yard hard in the afternoon, so we try to get the heavy loading done in the morning hours. Bricks are heavy and rough on the hands, so we all have callouses. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or shiny signs. People just know we are here on the road to Tiruchenndur. Sometimes the weather doesn't play nice and we have to cover everything up quickly when the clouds turn dark. It’s just the usual struggle of running a small place. We deal with the local builders and the odd person fixing up their house. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills at the end of the month. I guess we will be here for a long time.
