L Dharmaraj Brick Works

Our brick works is located at number 25 on Nadar North Street and we are right opposite to Kasthuri Restaurant. If you smell the food from the restaurant it probably means you are close to our gate. Making bricks is a messy and dusty business so our yard is always covered in red earth and water. L Dharmaraj Brick Works has been around for a long time and we supply bricks to a lot of the local builders in this area. We have the kilns set up in the back and they stay hot for days when we are firing a new batch. It is hard work especially when the sun is beating down on the street. We don't have a fancy office or any place to sit comfortably. Most of the time we are just out in the yard checking the quality of the bricks or loading them onto the trucks. The street can get quite busy with people going to the restaurant but we just stay busy with our piles of clay. It is a family-run thing and we don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. As long as the bricks are strong and the customers are satisfied we are happy. We have lived on Nadar North Street for ages so we know everyone around here. It is just honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night. We just keep making bricks.
