Indian Bricks

Indian Bricks is based out of Alwarkurichi, specifically in the Ambasamudram Nagar area. It is a small, quiet town and our brickyard is a big part of my life. We have been here for a long time, and I’ve seen many houses in this area built with the bricks we made right here. The yard is always a bit of a mess with piles of sand and finished bricks everywhere, but there is a system to it all. I don’t have a fancy title or a private office. I’m usually out there with the rest of the crew, getting my hands dirty. We don't use any high-tech machinery; it’s mostly manual work and it takes a lot of patience. We don't use big words or try to sound like a corporate business. When a customer comes by, we just show them what we have and tell them the price. There is no bargaining or complicated contracts, just a simple agreement between two people. Sometimes the heat gets so bad that we have to take long breaks in the middle of the day, but we make up for it by starting early in the morning. It’s a tough way to earn a living, but it feels good to see something you made being used to build the community. We are just local people doing what we know how to do, and we plan to keep it that way for as long as we can.
