Rsm Bricks

You can find us at 53, Alaja Pettai, on the Town Road in Tachanallur. It’s a busy area and the road always seems to have something going on. We spend our days making bricks and getting them loaded onto the trucks that come through. It’s a very physical job. There is always sand or clay under our fingernails and on our boots. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have the yard and the kilns. The heat from the fires is pretty intense, especially during the summer months. We drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when we aren't moving bricks. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to if you wanted to stay clean. People come to us because we are right here on the Town Road and easy to get to. We’ve got a routine that we follow every day, starting early and finishing up when it gets dark. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. That’s just part of being a small business owner. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just us working hard and trying to make a decent product for the people who need it. Tachanallur is a good place to be, and we’re just glad to be a part of the local scene. We have a few dogs that hang around the yard too. They mostly just sleep in the shade near the gate.
