St Marys Nur & Pri & High School Villar Road

We’ve been here on Villar Road for quite a while now. Most folks around Thillai Nagar or Stmarys School Road know the place just by walking past it every day. It started off small with just a few rooms for the nursery kids and slowly we added the primary and high school sections as the years went on. The building isn’t anything fancy to look at, just a regular school with classrooms and a playground that gets a bit dusty in the summer months. Tanjore is a busy place, but once you get inside the gates here, things settle down a bit. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place running, fixing chairs, or painting the walls when they look too scruffy. The teachers mostly come from the local neighborhoods nearby, so they know the families well. Some of the staff have been here since the beginning, and they've seen the kids grow up from toddlers to teenagers. It’s a lot of work handling all the different ages from the little ones in nursery to the high school students, but we just take it one day at a time. The morning starts with everyone lining up and the sound of the bell is something you can hear all the way down the road. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It's just us in the staff room or the front office trying to make sure the day goes smoothly.
