Morning Star Matriculation School

If you go down North Main Street in Thanjavur West, you’ll find us at No 2667/1 on Rajagopalasamy Koil Street. It’s an old part of town. The streets are narrow and full of history. Our school fits right into that. It’s a matriculation school, so we’ve got a wide range of students. The building has that classic look with high ceilings. Sometimes it feels a bit drafty, but mostly it's just homey. We have a lot of wooden benches that have been around for a long time. They’re sturdy. You can hear the sounds of the town all day—horns, temple bells, and people talking. It’s not a quiet, isolated campus. We are right in the middle of everything. The staff room is small and always full of tea cups and half-graded papers. We don't have a big administrative department. Usually, if a parent has a problem, they just come and find the principal in his office. It’s very direct. We focus on the basics. We don't have fancy computer labs with the latest gadgets. We have what we need to teach, and that’s it. Most of our students walk to school from the nearby houses. It feels more like a big family than a business. That’s just the way things are in Thanjavur. We like the local feel of the place. It's where we belong and we enjoy the daily buzz.
