N M Jhaveri Union High School

The school sits right here in Thanjavur, and mostly it's just about getting the students through their classes every day. We’ve got the 613001 pincode area kids coming in every morning. It’s a bit of a rush at eight, then things settle down for a few hours. The building isn't fancy, just some rooms and desks that have seen better days, but they work. Teachers show up, some of them have been here forever, and they just get on with it. We have the usual noise you’d expect from a high school, like shouting during the break and the sound of chairs dragging on the floor. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so everyone is usually ready to head home by the time the final bell rings. We don’t really do anything flashy here. It’s just N M Jhaveri Union High School, a place where local kids come to learn their math and science. Sometimes the fans make too much noise and we have to fix them, or a window gets stuck. It’s just a normal school life, really. We see parents coming by to talk about grades or just to drop off a forgotten lunch box. There’s always someone sweeping the hallways or trying to keep the place tidy, though with so many kids around, it’s a bit of a losing battle. It's just how things go in this part of town and we don't mind it.
