Palebarsa School

Palebarsa School is located at 3/24 on 2nd Street in the Mangalapuram area of Thanjavur. The 613001 pincode area is where we have been for a while now. The school is a modest building on a street that doesn't see too much heavy traffic, which is nice for the children. We have a few rooms that serve as classrooms, and each one has those old-fashioned wooden benches that have names carved into them from years ago. The walls are a pale yellow color, or at least they were when they were first painted. There is a small office near the entrance where we keep the mail and the school bell. Thanjavur has its own pace, and we tend to follow that here. The mornings are usually spent sweeping the front porch and getting the chalk ready for the teachers. We have a small tap in the back where everyone washes their hands before lunch. The roof is made of tiles that sometimes leak a little when the monsoon rains get really heavy, but we just move the desks out of the way. It is a very normal, everyday kind of place where things happen the same way they have for a long time. People around Mangalapuram know us as the small school on 2nd Street. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
