Our school sits right on the main road that goes from Thanjavur to Pattukottai. If you are driving through Orathanad, you will probably see our gates. It is a convenient spot for parents who live around here or work nearby. We have been running the matriculation and higher secondary levels for quite some years now. The school day usually involves a lot of chatter before the bell rings. We have different buildings for different grades. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we try to keep the classrooms as airy as possible. The ground isn't huge, but there is enough space for the kids to run around during the lunch break. Most of the teachers have been with us for a long time and they know the families in the area well. It feels more like a community than just a big institution. We handle everything from the small kids up to the older ones finishing their secondary education. There is always some repair work going on or a wall that needs painting, but that is part of keeping a school running. We don't have flashy advertisements or anything like that. People just know us from word of mouth. It is just a regular school where we try to keep things orderly and make sure the children are learning their subjects properly every day.
