Gnanam Matriculation Higher Secondary School

Located at No 1271 Kamarajar Street, our school is right in the middle of Thanjavur. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our walls. We have been teaching kids here for quite a while now. The building has that old-style layout where the rooms open out into a central corridor. We have many students from the surrounding streets who have been with us since they were small. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes when everyone is out for the morning assembly. We don't have a lot of extra space for fancy gardens, so we focus on what happens inside the classrooms. The walls have some old charts and student drawings pinned up. We don't spend a lot on advertisements because the local community knows us well enough already. It’s a practical place where the main goal is just getting through the subjects and helping the older students with their board exams. The bells ring every forty-five minutes, and you can hear the shuffle of feet as teachers move from one room to another. It’s a very predictable life here. We deal with broken chairs or leaky taps as they happen. It isn't a perfect setup, but it’s a school that belongs to this neighborhood. Most evenings, you’ll find some of us finishing up the register work before heading home to our families. It’s just how we do things on Kamarajar Street.
