Varkala Silk Saree

We are located at Plot No. C-47-48 in the Pramukh Park Industrial Society. It’s right across from the Pandesara G.I.D.C. area. This part of town is very industrial, so there are a lot of factories and warehouses around us. We deal with silk sarees specifically. It’s a bit different being in an industrial park compared to a regular market. We have more space here, which is nice for storing the larger rolls of silk. The air always smells a bit like machinery from the nearby units. We spend our days checking the weave and the colors of the sarees. Silk is delicate, so we have to be careful how we handle it. We don't get as many walk-in shoppers as the stores on Ring Road, but we stay busy with our regular contacts. It's a family thing, mostly. We have a few people who have been working with us for years. The floors are concrete and the walls are just painted white. It’s a very practical workspace. We keep a kettle in the corner for making tea. In the monsoon, the roads around here get a bit muddy, but we manage. We aren't trying to be fancy. We just produce and sell our sarees. It’s quiet work for the most part. We like having our own spot away from the main city chaos. Most people know us by word of mouth in this industrial zone. It works for us.
