Cafe Piano (The Grand Bhagwati)

We are located inside the Hotel Grand Bhagwati on Dumas Road. If you know Surat, you know Magdalla Circle is a major landmark. We’re right there. People come in for all sorts of reasons—sometimes it’s a business meeting, other times it’s just a family out for a meal. We’ve got the name Cafe Piano because of the vibe, but we’re mostly just a place to eat and talk. It’s a big space, so there’s usually room for everyone. We see a lot of travelers since we’re in the hotel, but local folks come by too. Our days start pretty early to get things ready for the first guests. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe ourselves. We just serve the food and make sure the coffee is hot. The staff here has been together for a while, so we know how to work around each other without getting in the way. It’s a steady job and we like seeing the same faces come back. The windows look out towards the road and it’s interesting to watch the traffic go by while things are quiet inside. It isn't always perfect, sometimes it's loud or we're running behind, but we do what we can. We’re just a part of the hotel, doing our part every day. There is no big mystery to it, we just keep the kitchen running.
