Chennai Central Restaurant

Our restaurant is located in the Amrutdhara Complex on Ghoddod Road in Surat. It’s a good spot because we are right opposite St Xaviers School. We see a lot of parents and students every day. Even though we are in Surat, the name Chennai Central reflects the kind of food we grew up with. The complex is busy, and there’s always something going on with the other shops. We aren't a big corporate chain, just a regular restaurant where we do most of the work ourselves. The space isn't huge, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen making sure the batter is right and the chutneys are fresh. It’s a lot of repetition every day, but that’s how you get things right. Sometimes the traffic on Ghoddod Road makes it hard to park, but people still find their way to us. We don't have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. We just put our name on the sign and opened the doors. It’s a bit noisy when the school lets out, but we like the life it brings to the street. We just want to keep things simple and honest. Most of our regulars are families from the nearby apartments. It’s a steady life here in Amrutdhara Complex and we are happy with that. We plan to stay here for as long as we can.
