Cafe Cokolade

You can find us over at Ascon City on Citylight Road. It’s a busy part of Surat, right across from the Science Centre. Most days the traffic on Citylight Road is pretty heavy, so we hear a lot of horns and engine noise while we are working. The cafe is spread across units L-31 to 34, so we have a bit of room, but it still feels tight when the weekend crowd shows up all at once. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just a few of us here trying to keep the tables clean and the orders moving. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird humming sound, but we’ve gotten used to it over the months. People coming back from the Science Centre often pop in because they are tired from walking around the exhibits. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a chair is wobbly, we just fix it with a bit of folded paper under the leg. The floor gets scuffed up pretty fast with everyone coming in and out, so we are always sweeping up. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in Surat. We just want to provide a spot where you can sit for a few minutes without being bothered. It’s a lot of work running a place like this, but we keep at it day after day because it’s what we know.
