Balaji Dosa Point

You can find us in Punagam, right across from Kiran Restaurant and not far from Jalaram Chowk. Balaji Dosa Point is basically a local spot where we make food every single day. The tawa is always hot, and the smell of the batter is something I've gotten used to over the years. We started this place because we wanted to work for ourselves here in Surat. It's not a big fancy restaurant with air conditioning; it's more of a practical place where people stop by for a quick bite. Most of our customers are folks from the neighborhood or people passing through Punagam on their way to work. We spend a lot of time prepping the chutneys and the masala early in the morning. It's a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with the heat from the stove. Sometimes the crowd gets a bit much in the evenings, and things can get a little chaotic, but we manage. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. Word just spreads because we’ve been at this spot for a while now. It's a simple life, making dosas and talking to the people who come by. We just try to keep the quality consistent and the place as clean as we can. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. We hope the tawa stays hot for many more years to come. There is always someone hungry at the counter.
